Gregory Lee McGee, 72, Topeka, was found to have passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home.
Gregory was married to his wife, Janet Dee McGee for 49 years before her death in 2014. He was a beloved husband, father, and “Poppy.” His family valued his wisdom and his grandchildren enjoyed his tall tales about an imaginary grandpa Joe and going to Mrs. OrangeHead’s house. Greg loved providing for and spending time with his family.
Greg was an ordained minister and spent much of his life in ministry. He loved the Lord and served others selflessly.
He was a skilled carpet layer, specializing in vinyl, tile and carpet installations.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Minnie McGee and his wife, Janet Dee McGee.
He is survived by his children, Ralph Gregory McGee and Renae Louise Silvers, Bradley Silvers; and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Madison and Abigail McGee and Timothy (Angela), Kathryn, Bradley and Zachariah Silvers; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ty, and Luke Silvers.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at Washington Creek Cemetery in Lawrence, KS on March 31, 2017 at 11 AM for Gregory and Janet McGee.
