Graveside services for Ilene Mae Janeway, 82, formerly of Lawrence, will be 10 am, Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 6:30-7:30 Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
She died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Tonganoxie Nursing and Rehab Center.
Ilene was born January 1, 1935, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Frank William and Jennie Maude Hall Miers. She graduated from McLouth High School in 1953.
She married Edwin Allen Janeway on October 11, 1953, in McLouth, KS, he preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include her son Andrew Janeway, Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.
Ilene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings.
She loved reading books, crafting small projects, making handmade Christmas ornaments, and canning and freezing vegetables she harvested from her huge garden.
