Memorial services for Jeffrey Dean Lowenthal, 54, Carrollton, Texas, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Lawrence, with Pastor Dave Peterson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
He died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, in Carollton.
He was born June 11, 1956, in Oakley, the son of Alfred and Ruth Hueftle Lowenthal.
He was educated in the Oakley and Colby public schools and attended Colby Community College.
Mr. Lowenthal farmed for his father and grandfather in Thomas County for seven years following high school graduation. He moved to Lawrence in 1980 and worked in sales. He specialized in waterbed sales and eventually moved into fine furniture sales when he relocated to Dallas in 1996.
He married Suzy Garrett in June 1983. They divorced in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Christina Janette, Overland Park; his mother, Ruth Lowenthal, Lawrence; a sister, Deb Teeter and husband Ron, Lawrence; two brothers, Richard Lowenthal and wife Kathy, Scott City, and David Lowenthal and wife Barbara, Lawrence; several nieces and nephews including Jackie Eastland and her husband Toby, Todd Isaac, and Blake Lowenthal, all of Lawrence; and two great-nieces, Taylor and Katelyn Eastland, Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his father.
