Laurance Lee (Larry) Rosdahl

Laurance Lee (Larry) Rosdahl, 68, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 at Olathe Medical Center after complications from surgery. He was surrounded by his wife and family.

Larry was born March 21, 1956 as the youngest son of Lyle and Opal Rosdahl. He was raised in Nortonville, KS and attended Jefferson County schools. Graduating high school in 1974.

Larry Worked at Lawrence Paper Company for 46 years. Starting as a machine operator in the factory, moving into sales, and finishing his career in project management and customer service. He retired in April of 2021. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Shelley, daughter Abby (Tony) Johnson, Minneapolis, son Drew (Julio), Lawrence, and granddaughters Carys & Mirabel of Minneapolis. Other survivors include his sister Ann Bertels (Richard), Nortonville, KS; Kent Rosdahl (Bonnie), Topeka, KS; Kathy Thompson (Phil), Tonganoxie, KS, his sister-in-law Glenice Rosdahl, San Antonio, as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Lyle & Opal Rosdahl, brother Lyle Herman Rosdahl, and his first wife Margaret Thum Rosdahl McNeil.

He was affectionately tagged Crazy Old Uncle Larry (COUL) by his many nieces and nephews. Always the life of family holiday gatherings- he was secretly very proud of his nickname!

When Larry was ready to leave a party, everyone heard, “It’s Go Time, Shel”. Well, Larry, this will be your final “go time”.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 from 5:00PM-7:00PM in Sully’s Bar & Grill at The Jayhawk Club: 1809 Birdie Way, Lawrence, Kansas. A celebratory toast will occur at 6:00PM. Casual/golf attire suggested.
