Services for Lois Nadine Johnson Anderson, 96, Lawrence, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born February 24, 1922, in Erie, Kansas, the daughter of Guy ORacey and Nina Heaton Rush. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1940.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Clinton Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed being part of a quilting group, reading, gardening, and most of all family.
She married Byron B. Johnson in Iola, Kansas, January 2, 1941. They lived in Independence, Kansas from 1946 to 1961, before moving to Lawrence in 1961. Byron passed away in 1989. Lois later married I. Carter Anderson in 1991. Carter passed away in 1998.
Survivors include sons, Tony Johnson and wife Esther of D’Hanis, Texas, Kenneth Johnson and wife Chris of Lawrence, Keith Johnson and wife Jan of Kansas City, Kansas, Steven Johnson and wife Barbara of Lexington, Ohio; daughters, Glenna Jones of Lawrence, and Nodjya Arrasmith and husband Gerry of Yucca Valley, California; brother Myron Rush and wife Betty of Iola, Kansas; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren; four step children, Barbara Cogburn, Louise Wintermantel, Loren Anderson, and Jane Schwartz; 13 step grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother, Clyde Rush; sister, Neva Blair; grandson, Brad Raab; and step son, Joe Anderson.
Friends may call from noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials to Great Lakes Hospice, Clinton Presbyterian Church, and the Brandon Woods Employee Fund, sent in care of the funeral home.
