Randy Burchett passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home in Lawrence Kansas. Randy was born May 15, 1961 in Kansas City, Mo. He was the son of Nancy Burchett of Lawrence, KS and James Burchett of Enterprise, AL.
He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1979. Soon after, he joined the Navy and became an Avionics Technician serving aboard the USS Enterprise and USS Ranger. After the military he continued in the avionics field with Northrop Grumman. Randy eventually decided on a different career path and began work as a youth counselor for at risk teens and adolescents. He finally made his way back to Lawrence where he worked various jobs while taking care of his mother.
Randy is remembered by his mother Nancy Burchett, Lawrence, KS; father James Burchett, Enterprise, AL; a sister Jan and her husband Mike Kern, Dallas, GA; nephew Chris Shouse and his wife Rebecca, Dallas, GA; nephew Stephen Shouse, Ft Walton Beach, FL; and a great-niece Elora Shouse, Dallas, GA; There is also extended family in Kansas, Missouri, Georgia, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
Private family services for Randy will take place at a later date.
