Shelby Dyan Copp, age 33, of Oskaloosa, KS passed away on August 31, 2025. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on May 18, 1992, in San Diego, California, Shelby had a heart that overflowed with love and compassion. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother — her children were truly her world. She dedicated her life to providing them love, laughter, and a childhood filled with fond memories.
To her friends, Shelby was a source of strength, laughter, and an appropriate dose of sarcasm. She had a gift for making people feel loved, and her presence could light up any room. Whether through a kind word, a spontaneous adventure, or a late-night conversation, she left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Shelby was preceded in death by her father William Hayden, and her grandparents Paul & Joan Doty.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jeremiah Copp, Jeremy Hartt, Norah Copp, Avery Copp and Bennett Barngrover; her mother, Pamela Cluck; her siblings, Jessica Hartt, Katie Dower and Griffin Hayden; and countless friends who loved her like family.
A celebration of Shelby’s life will be held on October 19th, 2025 from 2-4 pm at Rumsey-Yost in Lawrence, KS. Shelby’s funeral service will be held on October 20th, 2025 at 11am, also at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Those who knew her are invited to come together to honor her memory and share stories of the love and laughter she brought to their lives.
Though her time with us was far too short, Shelby’s love and light will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, her family, friends, and all who knew her.
