Services for Steven H. White, 52, Fayetteville, Arkansas, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.
Mr. White died Friday, February 11, 2011 at his home in Fayetteville.
He was born July 5, 1958, the son of Donald Howard White and Juanita H. Carr Bailey. He graduated from Emporia High School in 1976, and went on to attend the University of Kansas.
Mr. White worked as a carpenter and painter. He enjoyed riding his custom motorcycle, playing the guitar as he was a gifted musician, going on charity motorcycle rides, working on fellow riders bikes, spending time outdoors, was a Chicago Cubs fan, watching football,white water rafting, and camping. He was a “free spirit” in every sense of the word. He was a loving father and son, and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by a daughter, Madeline Chase White, Lawrence; mother, Juanita C. Bailey, Topeka; and a sister, Donna Grainger and husband Gene, Excelsior Springs, MO; 1 niece, Ashleigh Stokes; and 3 nephews, James Stokes, Wade Grainger, and Nathan Grainger.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
