Winnie Mae (Scott) Joice, age 93, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Hickory Pointe Care Center, Oskaloosa, KS.
She was born July 18, 1922 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Walter A. Scott and Pearl Mae (Methany) Scott.
Winnie married Halmon E. Joice on November 11, 1942 in Boynton, OK. They were married almost 64 years. Hal preceded her in death on November 2, 2005.
She was a “stay-at-home” mom and loved her family and friends. Her love overflowed on her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy was her faith in Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord. Winnie was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Winnie is survived by her son, Charles E. Joice, (Jane), Lawrence, and daughter, Sandra K. Drake (Bob), Lawrence. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Robb Joice (Meridian, Idaho), Charles Spurlock, (Lisa), Topeka, KS., Amy Spurlock, Lawrence, Kelly Valbuena (Richard), Lawrence, Katie Schwada (Steve), Lawrence, and Kara Strahm (Matthew), Lawrence. Winnie is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 am. Saturday, October 3, at First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
