A Visitation for Wray Allen Spooner, 77, Lawrence, will be from 10-11 Saturday Aug 19, 2017 at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Tonganoxie at 11:30 am.
Mr Spooner was born January 15, 1940 in Lawrence, Ks to Paris Jason and Anna Mae (Mason) Spooner. He graduated Schloco Indian School in Oklahoma in May, 1958.
He retired as Senior Engineer from Kansas University Power Plant in 1996 after serving 31 years. He was a proud Sand Rat . He loved antique tractor shows and was an avid collector of model trains.
Wray is survived by his wife, Sondra Spooner of the home. He is also survived by 2 daughters Becky Taylor (Johnny) of Rose Bud Arkansas and Pamela Snow (Tony) of Las Vegas, Nv. 2 step children, Frank Smith (Jeanne) of Tonganoxie, Ks and Della Smith of Overland Park, Ks.
He is also survived by 5 grand children , Garret Taylor and Libby Taylor, Anthony Alcorn, Aaron Alcorn and Trevor Alcorn. Also 5 step grandchildren Jordan (Tracey) Smith, Brandon Smith, Justin Smith, Austin (Kayla) Smith, and E. J. Walter.
Wray is also servived by 3 great-grandchildren Treydan Smith, Coleton Smith and Jordi Smith. 5 step grandchildren.
