Jo A. Lehman

Funeral services for Jo Lehman, 80, Lawrence, will be at 2 pm Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Randy Weinkauf officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lehman died Monday, June 22, 2015, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Coffey County, Kan., the daughter of William Alfred and Alena Williams. She graduated from Burlington High School. Jo was a homemaker, and was a foster parent to dozens of children over 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed cooking and raising her children and foster children.
She married Frederick Lehman on July 13, 1952, in Coffey County. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her children, Michelle Thacker (Rodney), Hays, Andrew Lehman (Brandi), Kansas City, Mo., Jessica Harris (Thomas), Lawrence, and Christopher Umbenhower, Lawrence; a sister, Mary Jane Gunlock, LeRoy, Kan.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Williams, and a sister, Georgia Pryor.
