Graveside services for Judith A. ‘Judy’ Wilkins, 74, Lawrence, will be at 10 am Friday at Hardy Oak Cemetery, rural Jefferson County, with the Rev. Patty Hatch officiating. Judy died Tuesday, Mar. 28, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 28, 1942, in Covina, California, the daughter of Vernon Lee and Patricia Jane Hopper Harris. She graduated from Tonganoxie High School. She had worked as a waitress at Perkins, as an owner/operator in the trucking industry, and at E&E Specialties. She enjoyed gardening, raising animals, and riding motorcycles, especially her 250 Suzuki.
She married Jimmy Ray Wilkins. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Mitch Foster and significant other Karen, Topeka; three daughters, Debra Cassella and husband Raymond, Lawrence, Gale Henderson and husband Kevin, Lawrence, and Patricia Neis and husband Dale, Eudora; two step sons, Jimmy Wilkins and wife Lori, Lecompton, and Randy Wilkins and wife Kristi, Tonganoxie; two step daughters, Bernice Stogner and husband Michael, Edwardsville, and Brenda DeCarlo and husband Terry, Ozawkie; a brother, Rusty Harris and wife Debbie, Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Kathleen James, Liberty, Mo., Bernice Masters and husband Fred, Emporia, and Linda Hobbs and husband Jerry, Tonganoxie; 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Judy Wilkins Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
