Services for Lloyd Harry Jameson, 88, Lawrence, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Vinland Cemetery, Vinland, Kansas.
Lloyd died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab.
He was born in Billings, Montana, on July 26, 1924, the son of Roy and Myrtle Stevenson Jameson. Along with his family, he moved to Vinland Valley and was raised there on the family farm. Lloyd continued to farm until health issues forced him to retire several years ago.
During World War II, Lloyd served in the U.S. Army from May 1943 to February 1946. He drove a bus for Greyhound lines for 43 years. He drove charter trips as well as his primary route from Kansas City to Tulsa, logging over 4 million safe miles.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Scott Jameson and wife, Trina, of Baldwin City; a grandson, Robert Jameson and wife, Aftan, of Lawrence; step grandchildren, Amy Webb and husband, Andy of Baldwin City and Justin McClintic both of Lawrence; a brother Earl Jameson of Lawrence; two step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, his companion of many years, Mary Copp of Lawrence. Lloyd is preceded in death by his son, Roger and brother, Howard.
Friends may call from noon until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
