Thomas F. Barbery

A Celebration of Life service for Thomas F. Barbery, 63, Tonganoxie, will take place at a later date.

Mr. Barbery died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

He was born September 3, 1951, in Princeton, West VA, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Bushee) Barbery. After high school he attended college and also served in the US Army. While in the Army he served in Vietnam and received the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and Vietnam Service medal with three Campaign Stars.

Thomas married Debra Ann Glenn on December 22, 1988, in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Mr. Barbery worked for the US Postal Service. After retiring from the Post Office, Thomas drove a bus for the Manhattan School district. While not working he enjoyed cooking, spending time with family & grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling and especially spending time at Tuttle Creek State Park.

He is survived by three sons, Dylan, of California; Josh, of Topeka; Jason Kahrs, of Clay Center; three sisters, Cassie Jackson & Jayne Di Vincenzo, of Virginia; Dawn Bonner of North Carolina; five brothers, Mike, Jay, Tim, of Virginia; Kevin of Texas; Tony, of West Virginia; and four grandchildren, Tray Kahrs, Mason Kahrs, Austin Barbery & Alyssa Barbery.
