Virginia May Comstock died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born March 3, 1936, in Windsor, Vt., to Orlin Waite Hale and May Whitaker Hale.
She received her RN degree from Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Mass., in 1957, and later received her BSN.
Ginny worked with patients in Osklaoosa, Iowa; Kenosha, Wis.; Iowa City, Iowa; and Duluth for much of her career and taught at Lake Superior College in Duluth prior to her retirement. Ginny was an accomplished artist and primarily created watercolor paintings.
Ginny married Raymond Dodge Comstock on December 28, 1957.
Other survivors include daughters Laurie Comstock (Greg Ludvigson) of Baldwin City, Kan, and Elizabeth Comstock of Hills, Iowa, grandchildren Nick (Heather) Ludvigson of Sebastopol, Cal.; Allie (Brett) Szymoniak of Portland, Or.; Paul Lee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Sam Owen of Hills, Iowa; and two great grandchildren.
A son, Kenny, died on October 30, 1988.
Services will be planned for a later date in Duluth.
The family suggests memorial to Hope United Methodist Church in Duluth.
