Dorothy M. Baldwin

Graveside services for Dorothy M. Baldwin, 81, Clinton, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Clinton Cemetery, with Pastor Don Ogden officiating.

Mrs. Baldwin died Tuesday, Aug, 9, 2011 at her home.

She was born Mar. 29, 1930, in the Hesper Community, south of Eudora, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel Westerhouse Votaw. She graduated from Eudora High School.

Mrs. Baldwin worked as an election clerk for Douglas County, and retired from there after many years of service. She previously had worked in the meat department at Rusty’s IGA. She also worked on the family farm, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crocheting.

She married Moreland Baldwin on May 23, 1948, in Eudora. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joyce Lindsey, in 1989; a brother, Vernon Votaw, and a sister, Eva Lancaster.

Survivors include a son, Jim Baldwin and wife Jerri, Clinton; two grandsons, Loren and Donald Baldwin; and a sister, Lela Morley, Eudora.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. At the request of Mrs. Baldwin, the casket will remain closed.
