Graveside funeral services for Evelyn L. Pliler, 68, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Evelyn will lie in state from noon to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Evelyn died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at her home. She was born Mar. 29, 1944, in Ottawa, to Alvin and Margaret Marsh Youngman. She worked as a dispatcher for A-1 Taxi Service for more than 10 years. She was a longtime Lawrence resident, and babysat many local children, who considered Evelyn their mom or grandma. She enjoyed KU basketball.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Pliler, Lawrence; two daughters, Donna Pliler, Bozeman, Mont., and Patricia Pliler, Lawrence; two brothers, Robert Youngman, Dodge City, and Donald Youngman and wife Sharon, Wichita; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Evelyn Pliler Memorial Fund, in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Lawrence, KS, 66044.
