Robert Lee “Bob” Allison

Memorial services for Robert Lee “Bob” Allison, 80, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory, with the Rev. Kent Winters-Hazelton officiating. Private inurnment will be later in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Allison died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Medicalodges Eudora.

He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Arkansas City, the son of Vern R. and Charlotte Harp Allison. He graduated from high school in Warrensburg, Mo., and later attended Central Missouri State College.

Mr. Allison was a pipeline and utility contractor in Missouri, and a residential contractor in Arkansas City before moving to Lawrence, where he was employed by Kansas Public Service Co. for 23 years. He was also part owner of Mobile Villages mobile home park. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Noon Kiwanis Club, and the Cosmopolitan Club. He enjoyed traveling and working with tools.

He married Laurie V. Jones on June 6, 1953, in Warrensburg, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Jeff Allison and wife Georgeanne, Hillsboro, Ore.; a daughter, L. Janet Allison, Eudora; and one grandson, Jay Allison.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
